Look Alive, Sunshine

It's finally December! :D I'm kind of happy about it. The year went by pretty fast, or so I think so, and yesterday (the first day of the month), we finally got some cold weather! I got out of my house in the morning to go to school and there was ice on roofs and cars :) The last time I saw that kind of stuff was at the beginning of the year so I was pretty excited.

Favorite song: "S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W"
On a different note! I finally got the new My Chemical Romance album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys :D It's pretty awesome, so if you were wondering if to buy or listen to it, I highly suggest it :) They have a knew kind of rhythm, or from my cousin's point of view, "They sound happier! Their lyrics are the same though, so it's still great." Thanks Ruth (I'm not sure if that's exactly how she said it, but I know it's something close to that)! MCR started doing songs that sound pretty technoish. One thing you need to know, I HATE TECHNO, but when I heard "Planetary (GO!)" I was pretty happy about it, their lyrics just pretty much made it up for me :) It's probably the only techno stuff I like! But chea, I love the album and recommend it to rock listeners and even deep poets! I just love the way they write :D

Favorite song: "Mean"
Another album that was recently released is Taylor Swift's Speak Now. I got this album by accident, actually. I was plugging in my cousin's iPod into my computer so I could get the new MCR stuff and Taylor Swift's album also transfered in. I've heard many good things about it from friends (both teens and adults), but I hadn't experienced myself. I know, people are saying that all her music is love songs (even though there are those few that aren't), but in this album I think Swift took a different approach in the country genre. Some of the new tracks are a bit more pop and I think that's the only thing I don't really like. On the other hand, there is more incorporating parts for both bass and drums, so some of the songs are a bit faster than her usual, such as "Better Than Revenge." And you have to admit, love and break-up songs are what are really selling lately, so Taylor Swift is pretty much on a roll :) But if you don't like her in the first place, I do not suggest this album, I don't think it would really change your opinion of her (you can if you want though!). If you enjoy pop and some country, go for it! You'll enjoy it :D

And that's pretty much all I have for today :) I feel like this post was a bit long, but I pretty much write what comes to my mind at the moment. OH! I also wanted to post a quick picture that I took after the concert two Saturdays ago. Just tell me what you think.

Happy Thursday!
Leslie :)
