HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! :D

Hey you guys! Just wanted to say happy thanksgiving and hope that you have a good one. I am blessed to have my family here in Houston :) Even though we're not that many here, we still make up for a HUGE family XD I am happy to have my friends who are always there when I need them <3 So yeah, I know it's all cliché to say and what not, but just take a second of today to just think about what you're thankful for. OH! And make sure you eat a ton! I can't wait to taste my cousin's chocoflan thingy lol Can't remember what it's called right now XP

OK so, I woke up this morning and remembered that I had to post something and I am completely unprepared so work with me! So on Saturday, November 20, 2010, I was able to attend and Awake Tonight/ Winter Wonder Slam concert with TobyMac and Skillet! You might have read it on last week's post that I went with Ruth, Maira, and Steven :)

John Cooper (personally my favorite photo :D)
Ben Kasica
We went to see Skillet last year (seriously it was almost 1 WHOLE year since we last saw them) and we thought that they were absolutely amazing! They basically almost had the same set list as last year, but in different order. Some people might think, "Then why did you go again?" (*cough cough* Dennis). Well they were such great performers and their music is amazing so why not see them again? Last year, we didn't get to see the whole performance because we left early, so what we didn't see last year was Ben Kasica's guitar solo (picture of him to the above right), a violin solo (he played "Deep in the Heart of Texas"!), along with a cello solo :D We also got to hear their song "Lucy" and "Rebirthing" so that was awesome :)

TobyMac singing "City on Our Knees"
And for the first time, we were able to see TobyMac perform! We love his music, his character, and he is also a great performer. We only had one little problem: HE NEVER COMPLETED A SONG! His songs would go something like this: first verse, chorus, last verse, and end with the chorus. I am not saying he's a horrible performer, he had the charisma to get the attention of an audience, but I mean it would have been better if he would finish our favorite songs, you know. But other than that he was absolutely amazing (:

So yup that's about it XD I know this might not be really interesting to some, but hey you could always give me some ideas about what to write about so just let me know!

Happy Thanksgiving,
Leslie :D

Body Image?

Happy November 18 you guys (just feeling a bit random today haha)!! Okay so I guess today I'm going to be focusing on one of the poems I wrote :) Probably one of the shortest I've ever written, but I think it also has a lot of meaning.

Before though, I just want to say...2 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE SKILLET AND TOBYMAC CONCERT!!!!!!! :DD Yes, we went to see Skillet last year, but we haven't seen TobyMac. And why not go see Skillet again? They were totally awesometastic last year, so I'm really excited to see them again (: I will be going with my cousin Ruth, Maira, and Steven. Lucky boy gets to go his first concert at age 10 XP I know he's going to enjoy it though (:

Anywho! I don't want to describe it much of what I wrote about, so please tell me what you think about the poem and please watch the video below from Dove Productions. It was pretty much my muse to write this, so enjoy :D

The Gracious Few

HEY YOU GUYS!!
Too much has happened since the last post! Not all very good, but some stuff was okay.
Take daylight savings for one. It has affected the amount of sleep I usually get. Every day since Sunday, I can feel my eyelids drooping not wanting to open in the morning! :( I haven't felt as sleepy since we started the school year.
But yea, that's basically how life has been like lately. Many things occurred, but not many I can really elaborate on.

On different note, I think I am going to start making posts that go on and off about photography, music, and writing. Basically, this week it will be about music, next it will be about writing (or photography, if I change my mind), etc.

There's a lot of new great bands out there that are starting to show up on iTunes and other sites. If you like the rock genre, I think you might enjoy this band, The Gracious Few. The band recently recorded their first album The Gracious Few. I downloaded four of their songs and love the way they play. Of course, the electric guitar is one of the main elements to a rock group, but this band is able to incorporate a new kind of flow with the words. The Gracious are able to make their lyrics sound like a speech or a proclamation. In a way they have a Nirvana kind of vibe by making their voices kind of quiet and a bit lazy at the beginning, and by the chorus they begin to let their voices become louder. You can also tell that the drummer is pretty experienced by the sound of his technique.

If you enjoy bands like Breaking Benjamin, I highly suggest this band! :D If you like, just email me and I can send you one of the songs :)

Comment on this post to tell me if you like my ideas about future posts, and if you don't....well sucks for you! Haha, just kidding, but if you didn't like them, just give me some of your ideas, please! :D

First Post?

YES!
This is the first post! Hopefully I can keep up with 3 blogs (this one, and two more for class).

My goal: Try to create a new post at least once a week!

Is that a good enough goal? I do think so :) I don't think this is about having the most followers/viewers though. This isn't myspace/facebook/twitter XP If you do start reading though, just know that most of these posts might be reflection of one's self. I might write poetry or short stories and occasionally post up some photos I've taken! Might even sneak in some new music I'm listening to (maybe a song of the week!) o.O This is going to be a blog about absolutely anything that can exist in this world (or maybe even beyond that!) :D So enjoy and I think all my new entries will be posted up every Thursday :)
